Join us for our next play reading, the uproarious Jack Absolute Flies Again in which Richard Brinsley Sheridan's classic comedy, The Rivals, is given a Battle of Britain update by Richard Bean, of One Man, Two Guvnors fame, and Oliver Chris.
July 1940. After an aerial dogfight, Pilot Officer Jack Absolute flies home to win the heart of his old flame, Lydia Languish. Back on home soil, Jack's advances soon turn to anarchy when the young heiress demands to be loved on her own, very particular, terms.
“What will happen in England when we have won this war ?"
"Bunting ! Bunting everywhere!"
"After the bunting has been taken down."
"They will never take down our bunting!"
A riotous success when it was premiered at the National Theatre in July 2022, this hilarious play is guaranteed to provide a laugh-filled evening.
All are welcome, it’s just for fun and for the love of Blighty! Sunday 13 October at 5.30pm at The Mill, see you there!!
