The Next Generation
Next Gen is our theatre company for young actors aged 12-18. The company is run by Sally Waghorn with help from Naomi Robertson, Jenny Manville and Kim Seymour.
We put on regular productions and have also started running a series of acting workshops lead by Adam Forde, a professional Director and former Creative Director of the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre.

No experience is necessary to get involved; all we need is enthusiasm. Plays are auditioned but we try and involve as many performers as we can.

Our productions to date have been:
2024 - "Matilda The Musical JR" adapted by Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin from the book by Roald Dahl
​
2023 – “James &The Giant Peach” by Roald Dahl adapted by David Wood, a rollocking version of the much loved classic marked a sparkling return after hiatus caused by the pandemic.
​
2019 – “Wind in the Willows” by Adam Forde and David Perkins, a musical version of the classic children’s story.
​
2018 – “Alice” by Laura Wade, a modern retelling of Alice in Wonderland.
​
2017 – “The Return of the Next Generation”, a one Act evening of 2 plays, “Ernie’s Incredible Adventures” and “The Cage Birds”.
